THE BLACK FOREST, Germany

Germany’s Black Forest is a mountinous region that is famous for its traditional cuckoo clocks, cherry schnapps and as the setting for numerous legends and fairy tales. The area is scattered with dense forests (many of North American Douglas Fir), and pastures It serves also as the Headwaters for the Danube River.
