(CLICK to Enlarge) Forms of letters used in the Tifnag alphabet,
originally used by the white Berbers (Tuaregs) of North Africa, but now
adopted by a number of non-Berber tongues in Northwest Africa. Among books printed in this Braille-like
script are parts of the four Gospels.
Rock-cut inscriptions range back to pre-Roman times in Africa (Fell
1982). |
