“De como se busca el sitio en el cual se encontró La Fuente Magna”

We went to La Hacienda Chua, to make a historic reference first, to find the place, etc. Asking among the residents of the place, we noticed that no one had any idea about the theme. The famous Hacienda Manjon, was unknown there, beside the fact that there were 6 Chuas, finally, a complete mess...

The only way left was to speak to the old men at the place. They sent us a 98 years old man called Maximiliano, that was his name. However, when we got there, a about 90-year old lady that was his wife told us that he was at a land commitment.

Asking we found the gathering, and Maximiliano was there. A delegate from UNAAR asked him for the fountain: he didn’t remember, so we decided to show him a picture of it with the cuneiform writings that I had taken with me... he recognized it immediately and called it by the name: "El Plato del Chancho" (the pig’s dish). We were astounded when the translator told us the history, it was an exact copy of what was published about the theme. Also he said that he would speak better at his home, but he was at a meeting right now, that his brother probably has another, that there were several, even pottery was found at the place, etc. and the bomb: "The fountain was found here” he said pointing to a group of tacanas ( starred monticules) in front of us we were surprised again; but as they were at the harvest time, the translator advised us not go up there right now, because if a rain or a blizzard fell, we could be seen as bringing bad luck, and they might not allow us to research there anymore.

We left there with the compromise of returning the following week and to talk with Maximiliano and his brother.
