Why the drawing tube matters!

To annotate clips right on the tape as we record, we write down specimen data and magnifications of objective, magnification changer and camera adapters on a small piece of whiteboard.

We then turn down the microscope illumination, switch on the desk light and project the whiteboard through the drawing tube into the camcorder's field of view to record it on tape. This way the correct information leads on tape before each series of clips of a specimen, much like a movie clapboard would be used while filming on a film set!
