Immature Stages of
Lathridiidae
Detailed information
on immature stages of Lathridiidae
is being acquired. However, Flanders
(1936b) noted that the South American Coccidophilus
citricola Brethes is predaceous
in its active stages on diaspine Coccidae.
The female places her eggs under the host scale covering, and hatching
occurs 8-9 days later. The larval
feeding period takes 10 days, though the stage persists for 13-20 days. Pupation takes place in crevices, and the
adult beetle emerges 5 days later. At
temperatures of 24-27EC, the cycle from egg
to adult is 27-35 days. |
