Research Focus

  1. The potato psyllid, Bactericera cockerelli (Sulc) (Hemiptera: Psyllidae), has emerged as a pest of solanaceous crops in California in recent years. Current pest management practices involve the use of insecticides to control this pest. The goal of my research is to improve pest management against this pest specifically by integrating biological control, use of resistant varieties, and biological knowledge of this pest.
