The lists below contain two types of sources,
commercial suppliers who are used to providing large numbers of insects of
various stages, and private research colonies. The commercial suppliers have
all of the necessary permits to ship live materials. Private research
laboratories do not have the budget, facilities nor permits to ship live
insects, but are usually willing to supply a small number of insects as a
courtesy to fellow researchers. Indeed, sometimes new research contacts come
about this way.
If anyone requests insects from a commercial
supplier, the fees and costs will be included automatically. Private or
University laboratories, on the other hand, are usually supported by sponsors
with research as the primary and overriding goal.

Benson Research:
We currently rear
15 pest species and supply them to many companies and Universities
including UC Riverside, UC Davis, and UC Berkeley. I've attached a list
which gives pricing. Eggs of all but 2 or 3 of the species are available
to ship immediately on any week day. Other stages are available but
usually require some lead time.
