Cognitive Neuroscience Lab
RESEARCH ASSISTANT APPLICATION
Description of duties:
The cognitive neuroscience lab studies the neural and cognitive bases of language processing, with an emphasis on cerebral hemisphere asymmetries. Research Assistants in our lab are involved in and responsible for: recruiting and posting for subjects, testing human subjects on computer-controlled perceptual experiments (i.e., getting experiments ready, ensuring that subjects meet criteria, administering paperwork and vision test, setting-up the computer program, explaining instructions, supervising subjects during experiment itself, and administering feedback), doing some preliminary analyses and data entry, attending regular weekly lab meetings, and helping out with a variety of miscellaneous tasks as they arise. The time commitment required is about 10-12 hours/week. You can register for 4 or more credits per quarter, for either a letter grade or CR/NC. Most students continue in our lab for at least 3 quarters. If you are interested, please take some time to fill out this application. We will contact you in the near future if you appear to possess the qualities that we are looking for. Thanks!
