Mangrove forest, Daintree National Park        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Mangroves are often overlooked or disliked (they are usually full of mosquitos), but they are extremely important habitats and are often quite beautiful.   These were at the end of a wonderful boardwalk in Daintree National Park in far north Queensland.   Near where these photos were taken was a nesting Papuan frogmouth.
