Yellowstone National Park is a huge area of (mostly) pristine wilderness. These are scenes of summer lupine blossoms in high meadows, and Yellowstone Falls and the river canyon below them (the yellowish rock gives the river, and the park, their name). The bottom image is of the Grand Tetons under stormclouds; they are not in Yellowstone Park proper, but are part of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. |
