Great Plains        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The Great Plains cover a huge swath of western North America, but (like many) I find them rather difficult to photograph.   These two images show dawn over the Konza Prairie in eastern Kansas -- a lovely bit of well-preserve tallgrass prairie -- and a summer thunderstorm over a recently-harvested wheatfield in eastern Colorado.   I like the contrast between the highly 'manicured' wheat and the wild prairie grass.
