Night sky, Fowlers Gap        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Fowlers Gap is a combination of sheep station and research facility, run by the University of New South Wales.  It is in true arid outback country, north of Broken Hill and not far from where New South Wales meets Queensland and South Australia.   One advantage of its isolation is the potential for very clear night skies, as was the case for these early spring views of the Milky Way.
