Palmer Station is a small US research base on Anvers Island (near the Antarctic Peninsula). Palmer is perched on the shore of Arthur Harbor, which is bounded
by the Anvers Island ice sheet. On clear summer evenings, the light of the setting sun briefly turns the glacier face bright pink.
