Many species of lupines offer wonderful displays of color throughout much of North America.   These are all from various places in California, including the Sierra Nevada mountains.   Some of them were growing in lush fields of California poppies and other wildflowers in the springs of 2001 and 2008, in the hills near Lake Elsinore, California.
