The guanacaste is the signature tree of the dry tropical forests of Central America. This huge example was photographed in Santa Rosa National Park, in the northwestern corner of Costa Rica. I used a polarizing filter to darken the sky, but the wide field of view resulted in considerable gradation of sky colors. |
