Brown-eyed primrose,   Chylismia claviformis        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Brown-eyed primrose (or 'browneyes') are desert annuals that flower, sometimes abundantly, in spring in the southwestern USA (they are also called Camissonia claviformis).   I took these photos after the very wet winter of 2017 in Anza-Borrego State Park, California.
