These charming little marsupials are common in the forests of eastern Australia.  They feed on insects and sap (which they get by biting small holes in the bark of preferred trees), and closely resemble the flying squirrels of the northern hemisphere.   This one came to an offering of honey-soaked bread near Lake Eacham, on the Atherton Tableland in tropical Queensland.
