Harbor seal        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Harbor seals are common (but usually unobtrusive) residents of coastal waters in much of North America.   They have cute, 'kittenish' or 'puppy-like' faces with very appealing big dark eyes (especially the young ones).   These seals were photographed in Skagway, Alaska, Monterey, California and at the 'Children's Pool' in La Jolla, CA.
