This small aspen grove next to a streamside meadow was high in the Bishop Creek drainage in the eastern Sierra Nevada (Inyo County, California). The view options were limited, as the location was adjacent to a road, the streambank was thick with willows except for one small gap, and I could not walk into the grass without damaging the delicate coating of frost (besides, that water was cold!). I made these images during an early October trip searching for aspen groves in autumn colors. |
