Siskin (European)        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The European siskin is a small, seed-eating finch that is very much like its North American relative, the pine siskin.   Both species are brown, tan, and yellow; males of the European siskin (upper right) are a bit more colorful than Western Hemisphere siskins.   I think the bird in the lower image is a juvenile.   These were photographed in Bialowieza, Poland.
