One of my lifelong birding goals was to see the painted bunting, an almost garishly-colored bird of the American southeast. I finally saw them on a trip to southern Florida (at the Corkscrew Swamp sanctuary), but they were very shy and difficult to photograph. This is the best I could do. The brightly colored male is at upper left; the others are females. |
