Pine grosbeaks occur in coniferous forests across much of Canada, and in mountain regions of the US.   The male in the upper image was approaching a feeder near Churchill, Manitoba.  The female below was feeding in a lodgepole pine in upper Rock Creek in the eastern Sierra Nevada of California.
