Blackcap        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The well - named blackcap (for males, at least; females have brown caps) is an abundant summer resident of much of Europe.   Their migration routes vary with summer habitat; western birds head across the Gibralter straits, and eastern birds go southeast through Israel and Egypt.   These directions are genetically programmed.   I took the photos in Biebrza National Park in northeastern Poland.
