Many tropical birds are colorful but most thrushes are rather plain, and Hauxwell's thrush of tropical South America is one of the plainest. In compensation, it has a wonderful, complex song. This bird was in dense rainforest at about 400 meters elevation on the Rio Alta Madre de Dios in eastern Peru. |
