Social flycatcher        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Social flycatchers are one of several 'kiskadee-like' species that share yellow bellies and black-and-white facial masks (others include the great and lesser kiskadees, boat-billed flycatcher, and rusty-margined flycatcher). Social flycatchers are common in forests and gardens in Central America.   As their name implies, they tend to live in small, noisy groups.   These were photographed in Gamboa, Panama, and in southeastern Peru.
