Greater pewees (formerly Coues' flycatcher) is a highland Mexican species that enters the US mainly in southeastern Arizona and adjacent New Mexico, with a few in south Texas.  A bird of montane pine-oak forests, it has a striking call frequently transcribed as "José Maria!".   These birds were photographed near Josephine Saddle in the Santa Rita Mountains of Arizona.
