Dusky-capped flycatcher        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Dusky-capped flycatchers closely resemble the closely-related and widely-distributed ash-throated flycatcher, but the dusky-capped is a Mexican species that enters the US only in southern Arizona and Texas.   The calls of the two species are quite different, which helps in identification.   These were photographed in Madera Canyon, Arizona.
