These elegant and graceful flycatchers are winter breeders in the south-central US, particularly Texas and Oklahoma. The bird in the upper images was photographed against distant clouds near Manhattan, Kansas on a stormy July morning. The one below perched briefly in a bush along a road south of San Antonio, Texas, just long enough for me to take a few pictures from the car.
