Red-capped parrot        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Red-capped parrots are common in their limited range in the southwest corner of Australia.   Even among parrots it is very colorful, almost to the point of being a bit garish (in my view, at least).   They are graceful fliers, noisy and social like most parrots.   I took the photos in Nornalup, a small town on the southwest coast, near Albany, Western Australia.
