Gang-gang cockatoo        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Gang-gang cockatoos are unique, with their scaly gray plumage and (in males like this bird) spectacular red 'skullcaps' with ragged fringes. They have a rather small range in the southeastern corner of Australia. This bird was part of a small flock feeding on berries near the town of Bright, in Victoria.
