Three species of harriers occur regularly in eastern Europe.   Males are distinctive but females are all rather similar.   I took the photos of a male marsh harrier as it hunted over an open field near Bialowieza; the dark brown female was in Biebrza National Park.   Both locations are in northeastern Poland.
