Black kites are ubiquitous Australian scavengers and frequent patrons of road kills -- of which there are plenty along outback highways.   One of these kites was visiting a very flat kangaroo on a roadside in northwest New South Wales; the bird in the closeup was near Mt. Carbine in far north Queensland.
