Egyptian vulture        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Egyptian vultures are among the smallest of the numerous African vultures, and are quite famous for their use of tools -- they employ rocks thrown with a toss of the head to break into the tough shells of ostrich eggs.   This bird was resting near a bathing pond in Nairobi National Park, Kenya, and some of its feathers are still wet.
