The piping plover is a small, delicate species similar in many respects to the snowy plover. Piping plovers are paler and have bright orange legs, as can be seen in these pictures of birds wintering at Fort DeSoto Park near St. Pete's Beach, Florida, and at Estero Lagoon in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. |
