Kildeers are found across much of North America and often breed very close to human habitations.   The sitting birds were feeding in a flooded field at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area near Riverside, California.   I used my car as a hide and took the pictures while resting the telephoto lens on the window frame.  These flying kildeers were photographed at the mouth of the San Diego River and at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area near Riverside, CA.
