Puna teal        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Puna teal are closely related to Andean teal and are easily identified by their blue bills, black caps, and white cheeks and upper necks.   These were photographed in a small pond in Cusco, Peru; the photos were taken at midday, so light was not ideal and I used fill-in flash.
