Little bittern

Little bitterns, like the very similar least bittern in North America, are small, colorful, skulking birds of thick marsh vegetation.  The usually don't like to come out into the open and hence are very frustrating subjects for photographers (for me, at least).   This adult was photographed in a reedbed around one of the small 'Palace Park' lakes in the small town of Bialowieza, Poland.
