Nazca booby        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Nazca boobies are eastern tropical Pacific seabirds and are very similar to the more widely-distributed masked booby.   This vagrant was photographed in Monterey Bay, California, far to the north of its normal tropical and subtropical range.   In these images it's being harassed by a parasitic jaeger.   Another vagrant in the same area was a brown booby.
