'June beetle'

Various kinds of brightly colored beetles, many of them scarabs, are common in much of the US.  They are often called 'June beetles', and although there is a formally-named June beetle (Cotinis nitida), the term is used for many different species.  I don't know the specific name of this colorful beetle, which was photographed near Manhattan, Kansas.
