Great pondhawk (Erythemis vesiculosa)        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Dragonfly identification from photographs can be difficult so I'm not totally certain this is a great pondhawk.  However, the green stigmas (visible at the wingtips in the left image) are supposed to be diagnostic in juveniles.   It was resting on twigs in the cypress swamp at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in southwest Florida.
