Numerous species of crab spiders occur in a variety of habitats.   All are ambush predators, frequently lurking in flowers to catch insects visiting for nectar or pollen.   This spider (species unknown) has captured a bee fly (species also unknown).   The photo was taken in early summer on the Konza Prairie in northeastern Kansas.
