El Capitan        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The 1000-meter granite wall of El Capitan is a Mecca for rock-climbers the world around (and for those who prefer to indulge in climbing as a spectator sport).   It's hard to encompass the sheer size of El Cap in a photograph; these are my best efforts. Most were taken in the early morning.   For the picture at upper left, I walked around in the trails below the cliffs to find a place to take this photo on an misty Autumn morning.
