Monk's hood blossoms        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Monk's hood (or simply 'monkshood') is a plant of wet, cool regions.   These blossoms were growing on a steep hillside near timberline, mixed with rich displays of fireweed, about 1000 m above the town of Skagway (left) and on the Pribilof Islands (right).
