Autumn in Denali Park        Images © Mark A. Chappell

In late summer and early fall, before snows close the park for the winter, the tundra foliage in Denali turns bright red, gold, and amber.   Overcast weather, as we had during a recent visit, lends some drama to the skies.   Outside the park along the highway, the Broad Pass region (upper right) also offers great views.   Like many Denali visitors, we did not get a veiw of The Peak itself on this trip, but the rest of the scenery more than made up for it.
