Coyote

Coyotes are often thought of in the context of plains, grasslands, and deserts, but these versatile predators also thrive in cities, mountains, and forests from Mexico into the Arctic.  Most of these images were made at the Bosque del Apache refuge in New Mexico.   The winter-furred coyote below at right was photographed after a recent snow in Anchorage, Alaska
