Bird Rock in Pebble Beach is one of the pictorial icons of the central California coast. The two images above show the rock with big waves in the foreground and silhouetted Monterey Cypress trees in the background; the picture below shows a distant pelican returning to roost over a stormy sea. I shot these photos at sunset on a stormy winter day, using a long lens from a distance to compress the view. |
